Lets talk about collecting.

unfortunately, my star wars collection is pretty small. but i have all the novels from the classic era up through dark journey of the njo series, plus a few prequel era books, and a few younger reader books.

for a while i was collecting lego sets, but that got too expensive, although ebay was a big help in finding them for less $$.

i have a few random toys...nothing real big. 2 lightsabers. i used to have an old school luke one, but i lost it. i have a jango fett blaster, a stuffed ewok, a tiny dagobah set, and a darth vader watch that doesn't work. i have some key chains, and i can't really remember what else i have. 3 episode 1 posters, a star wars lego poster that's in spanish, and that poster of the galaxy from star wars insider.

and i have that calendar that you got at best buy if you bought the ep2 dvd there and i have the ep2 dvd obviously. and i have ep1, 4, 5, and 6 on vhs. i bought r2d2 beneath the dome (yes i know you could watch it free on starwars.com but it was so hilarious). i got 2 other star wars related dvds, but i havent watched them because the dvd player on my computer always causes some fatal error.

oh and i have some other star wars books. i can't remember which all ones i have now but i have several of the non-fiction books, including the star wars cookbook 2.



<edit>: I edited part of this becausewe now have the collecting forum and this will serve us as Collectors "chat" of sorts. Just talk about your lates score at the toy store.

I've just recently begun collecting the SW legos. You're right, they are expensive. My collection is pretty tiny compared what is out there. Since I mostly just stick with the original trilogy sets that saves space and money. I feel silly putting them together, I'm many years older than the ages listed on the box, but it is kind of fun. I spent quite a bit of time shooting the rubber tipped torpedo across the room after I put the tie bomber together. I've got what I consider to be a half decent collection of ships right now, plus both final duels and all of the Jabba's Palace sets......

While I was typing that message I took a drink of a pop and my dad smacked me in the back of the head as a joke. I spit out the pop, the keyboard shorted out and it made alot of lines.

I have the Master Yoda; 'Size Matters Not' Imax poster, which I am getting framed. I have just about every EP. II action figure there is and I have a couple of posters. Just ask if I have anything that is AOTC. I also have the R2-D2 interactive droid which I call R2-EV9. I have got the C-3PO 12 inch collectors edition; 100$ value; got it 19.99 at a book store. Just ask; I am like an expert on this stuff, in fact I would like to be the mod or co-mod of th new collectors forum.

I have a prettty good sized collection as well, but not as big as when I was a kid (thanks Mom ). But my parents were into movie posters when I was younger - they owned a video store- but they managed to nab like 3 large original movie posters from '77 and then a couple of half sheets. And then a couple like that from ESB.
I go on Ebay alot and am trying to rebuild my collection.

I've found that thrift/2nd hand stores are good for finding older things. Someone nearby must have been getting rid of their collection recently. I picked up an 1979 copy (in pretty nice condition) of Han Solo at Stars' End, a 1978 Star Wars Picture book, a 1980 ESB picture book, and a double record set of the soundtrack from the 1st movie, also original. Both records are in nearly perfect condion, the cardboard on the box is a bit bent and worn, a sheet describing each song is in perfect conditon, and a poster is also included and in perfect condion. I've seen the record for sale online, but not with the poster.

Anyone know if it's original to the album or if someone just threw it in?
