We've talked about what we collect and but not why. I know collectors of just about anything all collect for different reasons. I know that often we think about more than one thing when buying something so pick the option that you use the most when buying when you vote and you can post as many reasons as you want.
Personally, I usually think about all of the options listed. The possible value is always a consideration, especially when finding original 77, 80, or 83 items in good condition. Everytime someone askes me for birthday or christmas gift suggestions Star Wars is always on there one way or another. If one of my favorite characters (you can probably guess at least one) happens to be on whatever it is I'm thinking about buying it very well might sway my decision as much as if I just simply like it or already have another in the set. And, of course, the fact that it's simply Star Wars can be pretty powerful motivation in shopping...
