hey hangover, it's been awhile. how are ya?  I'm doing quite well. I recently got engaged two weeks ago! That is my latest news. We're planning a wedding for next summer, hopefully. |

I recently got engaged two weeks ago! congratulations!!!! everyone at work is getting married in the next few weeks. i'm happy for them, but it makes me feel like a lonely little dork, cuz i don't know anyone in town, and i just hang out with my parents or by myself on the weekends. but... i have a date tonight! woohoooooooo!!!!  |

my brother dated his girlfriend for 10 years before they got married...they got married about a month ago

Speaking as a female SW geek I resent the use of the word geek, addict is far more approperiate. Besides, if he's a SW fan then where's the problem? They'd already have something in common and their interests wouldn't get in the way of each other, sounds like a match to me, trouble is finding a male SW fan worth having...

yeah...when my girlfriend, er...fiance and I first started dating, she hardly knew anything about star wars...and now I've converted her to a full fledged fan...not an addict or geek like the rest of us, but definately a big fan.

the date went ok. we went to this street where there are lots of bars and clubs, and we just walked up and down the street for a little while to see if anything interesting was going on, then we went to this one place that he said usually has good bands playing. and he payed for me to get in, and he bought me a drink. i only wanted one cuz i always feel guilty when other people buy me stuff. i mean, yesterday was like the first day i had a conversation with this guy that lasted more than 5 minutes, so i barely know him.
but anyway, he's super nice and stuff, but i don't think it'll work out in the long run. i'm way too picky, but hopefully we'll just be good friends, because i don't have any friends and i'd like at least 1.
oh and also he's 32, and i'm 22. it's kinda weird sometimes when we talk about stuff from pop culture, like bands i like and stuff, because he's like you're old enough to remember them?

oh and i don't know how he feels about star wars. we were talking about books for a little while, and i was like "i'm reading this series with like 19 books in it, but i'm stuck because i can't find the next book." and he's like what series? and i'm like it's a series of star wars books. and he didn't seem repulsed or anything, but he wasn't like "oh i love star wars" either. so i think he's neutral.
